Giovanni Lorenzo Forcieri was born on the 24th of March 1949. He is married with two children and lives in Sarzana (La Spezia). From 1976 to 1989 he was a company executive.
Mr. Lorenzo Forcieri is Vice President of the Italian Atlantic Committee and President of the Ligurian District for Marine Technologies.
From May 2009 Lorenzo Forcieri was appointed, by Italian Minister for Infrastructures and Transportation, President of the Port Authority of La Spezia, one of the leading port in the Mediterranean Sea. From 2011 Mr. Forcieri is also member of the Board of Medcruise, The Association of Mediterranean Cruise Ports.


Italian Parliamentary appointments.
During its parliamentary activity Mr. Forcieri has constantly contributed to the study and the development of strategic road and rail infrastructures, deepening the development and the improving of the port of La Spezia and its relationship with the town. He has held several positions within the Italian Senate including : Secretary of the Industry Commission, Vice President of the Defence Commission and President of the Council of the Head of Police Administration Senators during the XIII Legislature.


International parliamentary activities. Of particular importance are his parliamentary duties in the international arena. As a member of the NATO parliamentary Assembly since 1996, he was President of the relevant Italian parliamentary Delegation for the entire XIV Legislature, and also vice President and speaker of the Sub-commission on the Expansion of the Alliance, and a member of the Special Mediterranean Group from 1996 to 2006.


Government appointments. From 2006 to 2008, he was Deputy Minister of the Italian Government, with special responsibility for the Navy.

Tomás Llavador’s work analyzes the city as a whole, seeking sustainable urban development together with a balanced and harmonic design, where space for living, working and playing coexist. He is especially interested in the urban transformation of opportunity spaces such as obsolete urban areas or waterfronts and public space understood as a meeting place, a place for exchange, leisure and dialogue. Both at the urban and building scale, he creates flexible, mixed-use spaces with proper identity, where natural light, green spaces and sustainable materials are of major importance.

Un nouveau waterfront pour le port de La Spezia

Le projet du nouveau waterfront de la ville de La Spezia est celui du vainqueur du concours d’architecture international de 2007, urbaniste et architecte de Valence Monsieur Josè Maria Tomas Llavador.
Trois points fondamentaux caractérisent ce projet : le nouveau terminal de croisière pour rendre La Spezia plus compétitive dans un monde de la croisière de plus en plus concurrentiel ; des hôtels et des centres de congrès de qualité. Une grande attention a été accordée aux espaces publiques avec des zones piétonnes, des pistes cyclables et des nombreux espaces verts pour les citoyens. Pour la première fois, il sera possible de relier à pied d’une traite le front mer qui part de Molo Mirabello jusqu’à Calata Paita, une distance d’environ 1500 mètres.
330 000 m² de superficie investie avec un budget global de 250 millions d’euros qui permettra la construction de deux hôtels de 4 et 5 étoiles avec leurs centres de congrès respectifs, des zones vertes de 40 000 m², des parcours piétons et pistes cyclables, des zones dédiées aux activités sportives, une piscine, des parkings, un musée sur le thème de la mer, une nouvelle darse et un nouveau terminal de croisière, des structures pour des activités sportives et pour le temps libre, des kiosques commerciaux, un amphithéâtre à ciel ouvert pour des spectacles estivaux, une galerie commerciale , un centre sportif et un Spa. Le système viaire sera également modifié, permettant ainsi de relier finalement le front mer avec le centre ville. Le masterplan permettra la création de nouvelles liaisons et la mise en place de nouveaux modes de transport. Seront également rendus plus performants le transport maritime et les connexions intermodales avec le système ferroviaire à travers un raccordement direct qui partira du quai Calata Paita. Le « Cinque terre », mais aussi Lucca, Florence et Pise seront ainsi rendus facilement accessibles.
Ceci résume le contenu du masterplan définitif qui permettra de redessiner le front de mer de la ville ligurienne, grâce à la restitution à la ville d’une partie du port commercial.
« Ce masterplan me semble pouvoir apporter un nouveau élan pour cette ville et non seulement du point de vue urbanistique. Ca sera le signal pour une ville plus moderne, plus vivante, durable et agréable à vivre, une ville qui change et qui veut changer. Et nous voulons faire un pas en avant vers un développement touristique » a déclaré le président de l’Autorité Portuaire de La Spezia, Lorenzo Forcieri.
